This is at Martin's Cove. It is called the gap. It is where the river goes thru the rock.
View from our Hotel Room-Old Railroad Station-Deadwood, SDWe are in Deadwood, SD today. This is a little western town where Wild Bill Hickok died. We are staying in the Ironhorse Inn which is a sister hotel to the Hickok Hotel. They are across the street from each other. The building is very old and really neat looking on the outside. The hallways are really narrow and would not be up to code in this day and age. Our room is small but it has a view of the old railroad station and the Adams Museum. We are not far from Sturgis,, SD where the Bikers come in August each year for some partying. Tomorrow we will leave and go to Pierre. We are about 2and half hours from there.
We also stopped by Martins Cove that is located south of Casper, Wy. It was interesting to see the area and realize how difficult it was for the pioneers when they were stranded there during the winter when they were coming across the plains to Salt Lake.
